Eloise Robbertze

I’m an expressionist seascape photographer & digital artist living in Mauritius. My art is about 3 things: connection (between the ocean, her inhabitants & us), regeneration (of both endangered oceanic species and us) and colour therapy (inspired by the palettes of the ocean, the sky and the clouds). Since receiving my first camera at the age of 9, my images have evolved to become expressionist and, at times, abstract. I am passionate about protecting coral reefs and I tell the stories of the inhabitants of these reefs through bold images and symbolism. My niche is high-dynamic range imaging with a focus on the phenomenon called “Scattering”. This refers to light striking dust or gas molecules, or water vapours, which then creates the vibrant, rich colours we see at sunrise and sunset. With the advent of AIIA, I’m on a new journey of exploration. I’m experimenting by infusing my seascape and coral reef photography with ai manipulations to create spectacular coral reefs.
